Drake got the crowd to sing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” to J. Cole during his appearance at Dreamville Fest on Sunday.
Cole and Drake were the co-headliners for Dreamville Fest‘s second and final night, and they both made sure to show their appreciation to their fans. “If you can’t tell, Raleigh North Carolina and I love you, brother,” Drake said after the crowd chanted the “I Will Always Love You” lyrics back to the Dreamville founder. “I truly appreciate the opportunity.”
Cole also took a moment to remember Drizzy. “This man right here, bro, I was such a fan, and when I say this, bro, I feel like I’m speaking for all of us… “Your greatness has wowed, amazed, and blown us away, bro,” Cole said. “It gives me chills to see you do this shit at the highest level, non-stop, serving and blessing us with the fucking soundtrack to our lives.” Your brilliance astounds me. Make a fucking noise for Drizzy Drake!”
Drake also surprised the audience with a few other surprises during his set, which came after Cole’s 45-minute performance. GloRilla, who performed her breakthrough track “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” and Lil Uzi Vert, who performed “XO Tour Llif3” and “Just Wanna Rock,” were among those who performed. His biggest guest performer, however, was none other than Lil Wayne, who appeared on “Uproar” and “A Milli.”
