Many beefs, or alleged beefs, have erupted in the aftermath of Gunna‘s reported snitching. Fans have pledged their allegiances and attempted to keep score by comparing the new projects of various artists. Lil Durk released his new album Almost Healed earlier this year. The album went on to have the most successful debut for a rap album in 2023. Gunna’s new album, a Gift & a Curse, was released two weeks ago and debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200. Young Thug released his album Business Is Business over the weekend while still in police custody.
Many fans, including Joe Budden, had their own opinions on which album was the best. “They can’t fool me with their rap conditioning and rap ideologies, f*ck out.” Budden said, “That Gunna shit sound good.” The “trick” appears to refer to many fans claiming Gunna’s music is bad or that they won’t listen to it because he accepted a plea deal in the ongoing YSL RICO case. Joe Budden even went so far as to say that Gunna had the best album of the three. “It’s better than all of them, despite the lack of features and Metro Boomin, as well as the lack of assistance and support.” He accomplished it!”
Joe Budden Speaks Out About Gunna’s Album
This isn’t the first time Joe Budden has weighed in on a controversy. The rapper called out Clipse rappers Pusha T and No Malice on an episode of his podcast featuring Jim Jones. The feud began when Jones claimed that Pusha T did not belong on a recent list of the Top 50 Rappers of All Time. Pusha T inflamed the situation by directing lyrics at Jones from a song he debuted during Pharrell’s recent Louis Vuitton fashion show.
Gunna thanked fans for the success of his new album in a recent Instagram story video. The video emphasised the record’s streaming and chart debuts. It also stated that Gunna had the highest first-week sales for a non-featured album.
