Jhené Aiko, a singer-songwriter, has released new music.
Aiko has returned with the ethereal yet powerful track “Calm & Patient,” following a brief hiatus. This week, the Los Angeles native teased the full song on Instagram, a nod to her early days of sharing music on Tumblr. Aiko also shared an exciting quote from her manager, Ketrina “Taz” Askew, who confirmed that a “new [Jhené Aiko] era is upon us.”
“Returning to simpler times, when we just put music out for the love of it,” Taz explained. “Please accept my apologies, @defjam and team; this one is for the Soulmates.”
“Calm & Patient” is Aiko’s first official solo project since her 2020 album, Chilombo; however, she has contributed to a number of records in the past year, including Tyga’s “Sunshine” featuring Pop Smoke and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Consistency” from last year’s album, Traumazine.
